Cookies and local storage

Functional browser storage and how to delete it.

Preferences and statistics

Language (hoyowhatune.language.v1) and volume (hoyowhatune.volume.v1) use localStorage. The latest 200 results are stored in the IndexedDB database hoyowhatune.statistics. A technical localStorage value, hoyowhatune.statistics.changed, allows other tabs to refresh their statistics without sending the history over the network. A previous localStorage history may be read when migrating it to IndexedDB.

This data supports game settings and local history. It is not used for advertising tracking or audience measurement. No account identifier is created.

Music cycle in the tab

Played track identifiers are saved in sessionStorage to avoid repeats before the catalogue is exhausted. The cycle survives reloading the same tab. Its lifetime is the tab session; it is not shared live with other tabs. Some browsers’ session restoration features may restore this data.

The active round, the ten-round game and its summary stay in memory. If storage is unavailable, the game falls back to memory and the affected data may be lost on reload.

Functional storage and infrastructure

The CNIL explains consent requirements and exemptions, including storage strictly necessary for a requested service and certain expected interface preferences. The storage described here serves only these game functions, with no added advertising or audience trackers. No consent banner is added for these functional uses.

Cloudflare provides hosting and security. Technical mechanisms may be involved depending on requests and configuration; this page does not guarantee the complete absence of infrastructure cookies. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Changing or deleting data

Change language and volume in the game. Clearing statistics removes the local history without resetting the music cycle. Closing the tab normally ends its session storage.

To delete everything, remove the site data for ost.hoyowhatpeon.com in your browser settings, including localStorage and IndexedDB. Deleting cookies alone may leave this data in place. Other subdomains have their own storage.
